Introducing the Ubuntu Four Initiatives
Ubuntu Fly Anglers’ four key initiatives include an annual gathering to build community, engaging BIPOC individuals through ambassador-led education and activism, hosting a monthly live Instagram show with BIPOC fly anglers and activists, and providing an online map to connect BIPOC anglers and businesses across the US.
We Are Here -
- A commitment to host one annual in-person gathering of like minded black and brown fly anglers and environmental activists/educators from across the country. In-person gatherings are a necessary part of our purpose, mission, and collective identity. They are important to build our community, and to support community engagement wherever we meet.
- Are constantly looking for creative opportunities to engage BIPOC individuals and communities, to introduce fly angling, and education, encourage environmental activism and encourage others to venture outdoors.
- A monthly, live 30 minute Instagram show with BIPOC fly anglers/environmental activists guests from across the country. Go to Ubuntu Instagram HERE.
The ubuntu green book -
- Named after the “Negro motorist Green-book” that was an annual guidebook for African-American Roadtrippers published from 1936-1967 for safe travel. This is a web designed map locator program that allows BIPOC anglers a way to find other professional or hobby BIPOC anglers and/or their businesses across the US.
