We understand that not everyone uses or prefers Facebook to connect with fellow anglers registered for the Washington event. That’s why we’ve created an alternative: the Washington DIY WhatsApp Group. Our co-hosts will be active in both the Facebook and WhatsApp groups, answering questions and sharing helpful information leading up to the event. Use it to connect with other anglers, make fishing plans, share tips, and ask questions.

- A valid Washington State Fishing License is required for all participants who plan to fish.
- Please bring your own lunch for the day.
- For recommended equipment, tackle, and fly selections, visit the Washington Event Fishing webpage.
- Support a local business by stopping at Crow Creek Fly Shop for flies, tackle, and other gear you will need for the weekend and future fishing adventures.
- Most importantly, be an enthusiastic fishing partner and help net your neighbor’s fish when they land a big one!
We recommend connecting first through the WA Facebook Group or the WA DIY WhatsApp Group. If you have a question, there’s a good chance others are wondering the same thing.
If your question is more specific or you prefer to reach out directly, please email [email protected]. Please note that we are a volunteer-run organization and will do our best to respond as quickly as possible.
For any last-minute questions not addressed in the Facebook or WhatsApp groups, please contact Anne Bumgarner at (425) 681-6103. Cell service in the area can be spotty, but she will get back to you as soon as possible. Text messages are encouraged.
We’ve created two platforms for registered participants to connect with other anglers attending the Montana event.
We recognize that not everyone uses or prefers Facebook, so we also offer the Washington DIY WhatsApp Group as an alternative. Our co-hosts will be active in both the Facebook Group and the WhatsApp group, answering questions and sharing helpful information leading up to the event.
Participants are welcome to use either platform to connect with fellow anglers, make fishing plans, share tips, and ask questions.
A DIY (Do It Yourself) Fishing Event means participants take an active role in planning and preparing for their fishing experience. iFishiBelong and our event co-hosts provide curated resources, local information, and essential guidance, but it is each angler’s responsibility to review all event emails, explore the website, and prepare in advance.
These events are non-guided, so anglers are responsible for their own logistics, fishing plans, and on-the-water decisions. We strongly encourage participants to connect ahead of time through the event’s Facebook Group or WhatsApp Group to coordinate plans, share tips, and find others to fish with. The more prepared you are, the more confident and rewarding your experience will be.

We make every effort to post the final event schedule by the Monday of event week. However, changes may be necessary due to safety considerations, weather conditions, logistical needs, or to take advantage of the best fishing opportunities.
Any schedule updates made during the event will be communicated to participants. The itinerary webpage will always reflect the most current schedule, and any last-minute changes will also be announced in the WA DIY WhatsApp Group.
Please visit the WA Itinerary webpage for the latest schedule and event information.

No, this event is not guided. In order to keep costs down, this event is DIY, meaning that each angler does it themselves. iFishiBelong has provided a list of suggested guides and fly shops that you can book a guided trip through. NOTE: This is the responsibility of each individual. Click HERE for suggested fly shops and guides.
We recognize that not everyone wants to DIY Fish and may prefer the expertise of a fishing guide. In our commitment to showcasing local businesses and guides, we’re pleased to provide a list of area guides recommended by the iFishiBelong community.
We’re excited to bring everyone together for an evening of great food, community, and fun at Roslyn Yards on Saturday night. Included with your registration is a buffet dinner catered by one of our favorite local Roslyn businesses, Juanita’s Mexican Food. After dinner, the fun continues with two signature Roslyn Riffle activities: Speed Friending and the Fly Fishing Olympics.
We understand that many attendees may have family members, friends, or partners joining them who do not fish, and you may not want to purchase a full weekend registration for them.
If you would like your guest to join us for the Saturday dinner included with registration, you can purchase a Dinner-Only Registration for them.
The cost is $25 and includes dinner, access to the Roslyn Yard event space, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Dinner-Only Registration can be purchased through the Washington registration link, or you may purchase a ticket at the iFishiBelong table on Saturday during the event. Please bring cash or a check, or you may pay via Venmo at @ifishibelong.

This isn’t dating. It’s speed friending for anglers.
Whether you’re the type of person who loves a predawn wake-up call and hiking into remote water before sunrise, or you prefer a relaxed afternoon start with friends, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other participants who enjoy fly fishing the same way you do.
Speed Friending is a fun, low-pressure way to connect with fellow anglers, build new friendships, and find future fishing partners for adventures both near and far.
The Fly Fishing Olympics is all about having fun, being a little competitive, and showing off your fly fishing skills.
Participants will compete in teams of three, with each team member taking on different lighthearted challenges. The challenges will include selecting the right fly based on clues, tying a knot, casting at targets, knocking down empty cans, and even throwing and netting a fish.
No experience is required, and spectators are encouraged to cheer on their fellow participants. Prizes will be awarded, but the real goal is to laugh, connect with others, and enjoy an evening of fly fishing-themed fun.
Your safety matters to us. We strongly encourage anglers to avoid fishing alone and to connect with a fishing buddy via our Facebook or WhatsApp groups. For the safety of all participants, please stay home if you are feeling unwell or have a positive COVID test result. Be sure to monitor weather conditions, dress appropriately for the environment, and remain aware of changing water levels, flows, and conditions at all times.
Pitch In & Pick Up
One of the values we share as anglers is caring for the waters and public lands we enjoy. To help keep the Roslyn area beautiful, each participant will receive a trash bag in their registration packet.
We encourage everyone to pick up litter throughout the weekend while exploring rivers, trails, parking areas, and fishing access sites. Once you’ve filled your bag, bring it back to Crow Creek Fly Shop to be counted. Prizes will be awarded to the participants who collect the most trash during the event.
Whether you pick up a few pieces of litter or fill an entire bag, every effort makes a difference. Together, we can leave our fishing destinations cleaner than we found them and help protect these places for future anglers.
