The Eastern Sierra and Mammoth Lakes region of California offers some of the most rewarding fall fishing in the state. As temperatures cool and summer crowds fade, the area transforms into a peaceful, golden landscape framed by aspens in full color and crisp mountain air. Lakes, rivers, and creeks, from the Owens River to the high alpine waters around Mammoth, become prime habitat for trout that are actively feeding before winter, making fall an excellent time for both fly and spin anglers. The lower light, cooler water, and seasonal insect activity create ideal conditions for productive days on the water, whether you’re casting in a quiet meadow stream or exploring a glassy alpine lake.
We have two main locations for the weekend, and you’ll find the addresses listed below. Be sure to enter them into your GPS while you still have cell service, as coverage can be spotty in this area.
