The iFishiBelong Scholarship Program is designed to support individuals facing financial challenges that may impact their ability to participate in the iFishiBelong DIY Fishing events.  We recognize the importance of diverse perspectives in building a united and inclusive angling community and aim to help lessen the financial barriers that may hinder attendance.

  • Registration for the North Carolina iFishiBelong DIY Fishing Event ($50 Value)

    • There will be education opportunities during the festival on Saturday 3/7/26.
  • Co-Host Guidance
    • Our co-hosts will be available throughout the event.
    • Get answers on topics like knots, leaders, flies, and prime fishing locations.
  • Social Fishing Morning
    • Join us on Sunday morning to fish alongside fellow registrants. Our co-hosts will be on site and available to help answer questions about fishing setup and techniques.

4hr Independent Angler Workshop

We’re excited to bring the Independent Angler Workshop back to North Carolina! This hands-on workshop is perfect for beginner and intermediate anglers and includes time on private water with Headwaters Outfitters guides for personalized instruction. Participants will also have access to online prep courses and can borrow equipment if needed. A scholarship is available for this workshop. Click HERE to find out more.

  • Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

The Forks of the River Fly Fishing and Music Festival offers several educational opportunities over the weekend.

Sunday Social Fishing Day

The Social Fishing Day is an opportunity for participants to come together and spend a few hours fishing as a group. Our co-hosts will be on-site to help answer questions about fishing setup and techniques and to share insights into fishing the area. This is a communal, social experience. If you’re seeking solitude on the water, this may not be the right fit. But if you’re excited to learn, fish alongside others, and connect with new angling friends, this opportunity is for you.

Sunday 3/8/26 – Meet at Headwaters Fly Shop

  • 9:00 am – Meet at the Headwaters for Coffee 
  • 9:30 am – Head to Fishing Location(s)
  • 10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Social Fish
  • 12:00 pm Depart

Exact fishing location will be decided the morning of the Social fish based on water conditions and what’s fishing well.
