Meet Mario Guel

Fly-fishing advocate, marketing leader & community builder.  She cast her first fly line 12 years ago with unshakable enthusiasm, boundless energy, and her signature accessory—confidence.  At a time when few women were seen on the water, she sought out anyone willing to fish with her, traveling across Southern California to join fly fishing clubs, learn the craft, and build community. But the journey wasn’t always smooth—she often encountered skepticism and judgment. When she learned that some believed women only joined clubs to “catch” wealthy husbands, she laughed it off. It only strengthened her resolve to prove her passion was real. And she did—hook, line, and sinker.

Known for her bold motto, “No bitching, just fishing!” Analiza is unfazed by negativity, thrives on connection, and is easily recognized by her contagious laugh—so joyful even the fish might want to join in. She especially loves taking women and first-time anglers to local spots like the L.A. River and San Gabriel River, lighting up when someone lands their first fish. For her, fly fishing isn’t just about the catch—it’s about the adventure, the community, and the memories.

Fly fishing became a meditative escape from her busy life and a perfect parallel to her marketing career: strategic, challenging, and deeply rewarding. That harmony is what keeps her coming back.

Analiza was featured as the fly fishing expert on Storage Wars (Season 13, Episode 19), appeared in the LA River documentary Rivers of Angels, and graced the June/July 2025 issue of Fly Fisherman Magazine. As Chair of the Pasadena Casting Club Women’s Program, she leads efforts to make the sport more inclusive. In 2015, she spearheaded the club’s transition from a printed newsletter to a digital one, serving as Fish Tales publisher until 2019. In recognition of her contributions, she received the Ralph Van Wagner Outstanding Service Award in 2016.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University and is the co-founder of Cana Decor, a home décor brand inspired by nature. She lives at the foot of the San Gabriel River in Azusa, California, with her supportive husband and two amazing kids. Her mission is to engage more women in fly fishing through education, events, and community, helping them fall in love with the sport just like she did.
